The first Warsaw M-20 rolled off the assembly line on November 6, 1951 at 2:00 p.m. The original plans called for the production of 25,000 units per year, but by the end of 1951 only 75 had been produced. Exports also began in 1954. Initially, the vehicle was shipped to China, Romania, Albania, and Bulgaria. Vans were also built based on components intended for the Warsaw: Żuk, Nysa, and Tarpan.
