Ordinary tarpaulins can’t withstand tension and their grommets tear out. This tarp has sewn-in straps around the entire edge. Unfortunately, the fabric sags between the straps, so I ran a rope crosswise underneath to lift it. That’s also because I’m lazy to put the tarp away in the rain and just let it sag so the water drains. Even so, the waterproofing isn’t perfect and the tarp gets damp and heavier. Don’t count on hiding under it in the rain, but it fulfills its basic purpose as a sunshade flawlessly.
