Foals of the Haflinger breed reach nearly full growth by three years old. However, they occasionally continue to grow until the fifth year, increasing by three to six centimeters. They are born with names starting with a letter from one of the parents, featuring their distinctive chestnut coat with a light mane and tail. Sometimes they may have markings on their heads but are usually solid-colored individuals reaching a height of 138 to 155 centimeters.
