Polish Light Tank 7TP - Twin Turret
Polish Light Tank 7TP - Twin Turret
Discover the historic Polish Light Tank 7TP with its unique twin turret design, hailing from the early period of World War II. This model faithfully represents the iconic tank, which was central to Poland's armored forces in 1939.
The 7TP was engineered at the State Engineering Works in Ursus and is a development of the British Vickers E, a design licensed by Poland in the early 1930s. The first 24 units were built with two turrets, while subsequent models produced from 1937 featured a single turret and mounted a 37mm anti-tank Bofors gun.
The 7TP tank was advanced for its time, being one of the first worldwide to use a diesel engine and a reversible periscope, with some units equipped with RKBc 2N/C radios with a range of up to 25 km. During the September Campaign of 1939, approximately 130 units were deployed, proving effective against the German Pz.Kpfw I and II, and on par with the Pz.Kpfw III and IV.
