Roaring Lion, Wild Life Red
Lions are the only big cats whose males have manes, making them easy to distinguish from females.
The larger a lion’s mane, the more intimidating it is to intruders it drives from its territory. Lions are also the only animals that hunt together in groups, although this task is usually left to the lionesses. Since, unlike cheetahs, they aren’t particularly fast, their strength lies in the pride. They approach from different directions, surround their prey, and use the element of surprise. This allows them to hunt large hoofed animals such as zebras and wildebeest, as well as buffalo and weak elephants.
