What is PLAYFOAM®: PlayFoam® is made of tiny soft foam beads bonded with a special binder. You can remove the beads one by one. The foam is really lightweight, so you can create even large works. Even when you build big models and structures, it won’t collapse and keeps its shape. (Only if exposed to high heat can the binder lose strength. For example, direct summer sunlight isn’t ideal ;-) To reinforce long, thin shapes like masts, tree trunks, or flowers, insert a stick (e.g., a popsicle stick) or use chenille stems and wrap them with the foam. (Pipes/chenille stems are also included in some PlayFoam® sets.) The special binder is non-allergenic and non-toxic. It keeps the beads together but won’t stick to furniture, objects, or floors. Even standard loop carpets survive contact with PlayFoam® without damage! Just press a small ball of foam onto any leftover bits and it’s clean. This special binder was developed in the lab for over 2 years to meet safety standards and demanding performance requirements. Even during long play, when the material warms in the hands, it doesn’t lose the key properties parents value in PlayFoam®.
