The basic rules of Palant are simple:
- The field is divided into two zones: "heaven" and "hell".
- The player in "heaven" has to throw the ball and hit it with a bat at least past the initial line into "hell".
- After hitting, the player runs to the next bases and gains a point when passing the fourth base.
- The opposing team's goal is to quickly throw the ball past the initial line or hit the running player to eliminate them.
