Sperm Whale Figurine 24cm in Bag
The Sperm Whale is the largest toothed animal on the planet. The largest recorded specimen measured nearly 26 meters. Sperm whales have an enormous head, which constitutes up to one-third of their body length. A mature male's brain can weigh up to 7 kg, but given the size of the whale, this is not considered especially large.
Their blowhole, shaped like an 'S' on the top of their head, allows them to expel steam jets forward that are audible for miles. In the lower jaw, they have 20–26 pairs of conical teeth, each weighing up to one kilogram. Interestingly, the function of these teeth remains unclear as even some toothless sperm whales have been found well-nourished. They are among the deepest diving mammals on the planet. Regular dives typically reach depths of around 400 meters and last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Their diet includes various marine animals, primarily squids, octopuses, and other deep-sea creatures.
