A new dimension of control

Versatile Joy-Con controllers offer a wealth of surprising gameplay experiences. The two Joy-Con controllers can be used one in each hand, or together as a single game controller with the Joy-Con grip. You can also attach them to the console in handheld mode, or share with a friend to enjoy two-player multiplayer in supported titles. Each Joy-Con has a complete set of buttons and can be used as a standalone controller, and is equipped with an accelerometer and gyroscopic motion sensor, enabling independent left and right motion control.

The left Joy-Con features a Capture button that lets players take instant screenshots of their gameplay with a single click and share them with friends via social media. The right Joy-Con includes an NFC touchpoint for interacting with amiibo figures as well as an IR motion camera capable of detecting the distance, shape, and movement of nearby objects in games designed for these features. For example, it can determine how far a player’s hand is and what shape it is making.

Joy-Con controllers also introduce advanced HD rumble, which in compatible games lets players feel a much more realistic vibration response than ever before. The effect is so detailed that players can, for example, feel the vibrations of individual ice cubes inside a glass that the Joy-Con is simulating. Thanks to HD rumble, players will experience a new level of realism, beyond what sight and sound alone can provide!



Up to eight controllers can be wirelessly connected via Bluetooth to a single Nintendo Switch console. This can be any combination of Joy-Con controllers and other controllers such as the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

Joy-Con controllers can last up to 20 hours on a single charge and can be recharged by reconnecting them to the Nintendo Switch console, or by attaching them to the Nintendo Switch Charging Grip accessory.
