Embark on an exciting building journey with the Aircraft Carrier Graf Zeppelin Building Blocks Set from COBI. This impressive model, crafted to a standard 1:300 scale, replicates the legendary German aircraft carrier from World War II. With a record-setting 3,136 pieces, this kit promises hours of immersive construction fun.
This new edition boasts enhancements including brown-colored deck tiles and a redesigned funnel for added authenticity. The high-quality prints meticulously recreate the deck's paintwork and ship's details from the WWII era, resistant to wear even with vigorous use.
Discover the innovative design of the working aircraft elevator embedded in the deck, operated by a discreet knob hidden at the hull's base. The set includes 8 miniature deck aircraft featuring new color variations, along with a special transparent block simulating a launching aircraft.
**Display the Graf Zeppelin** on the included stand, complete with a nameplate specifying the model and scale. This advanced and exclusive collectible kit will satisfy fans of naval history, modeling, and military enthusiasts alike.
**Historical Background**: The Graf Zeppelin is Germany's only aircraft carrier, with construction beginning on December 28, 1936, in Kiel. Construction halted in 1943 on Adolf Hitler's orders despite its nearing completion. After being towed to Szczecin for dismantling, it was never finished. In early 1945, partially submerged to prevent seizure by the advancing Red Army, it was later included in the Soviet navy but never repaired. In 1947, it served as a target ship and was sunk in the Baltic Sea. Its wreck was discovered in 2006, lying 87 meters deep, 55 km north of Wladyslawowo.
